Volunteer Invasive Species Removal with the Trail Conference

Date:
Saturday, June 21, 2014 - 9:30am to 2:00pm
Location:
Pound Ridge

Join the Trail Conference's Invasives Strike Force and Westchester Land Trust for an invasive shrub removal work day at Westchester Wilderness Walk/ Zofnass Family Preserve in Pound Ridge.

The Trail Conference Invasives Strike Force Trail Crew is made up of volunteers dedicated to eradicating invasive plants along hiking trails in the region.  Volunteers do not have to become members of the Trail Conference to participate in the trail crew, however membership is encouraged so that you can enjoy benefits such as discounts on Trail Conference publications and with our retail partners.

Anyone can participate in this Trail Crew -prior attendance at a training workshop is not required and you do not need to know how to identify the plants. We provide on-the-job training.

If you would like to volunteer at an Invasives Strike Force Trail Crew workday, please email isftrailcrew@gmail.com for detailed information including meeting place and directions.

For all trips, bring work gloves, water and lunch.  Trips will usually be cancelled if it is raining.
