The first year of the Shady Invaders campaign has come to a close. Thank you for all of your contributions this year!
The objective of this campaign is to quantify the phenomenon called Extended Leaf Phenology (ELP), which is the idea that invasive species break bud earlier in the spring and hold onto leaves longer in the fall.
How did we do? The observations you submitted to Nature's Notebook on invasive and native shrubs across the eastern US are showing some interesting patterns!
