Invasives Removal at Old Croton Aqueduct state park

Date:
Saturday, October 17, 2015 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
Location:
Ossining

One of our past participants and leaders, Daria G. of Ossining, has been inspired to take workshops about invasive plants.  Now that she is full of information about the many invasive plant species spreading in our area, she wanted to do something and decided to adopt a section of the Aqueduct Trail close to her house.  She and two other workers started tackling the invasive plants along a section of the Croton Aqueduct. It was not overly invaded, but they still had plenty to do digging and pulling up Multiflora Rose, Barberry and Euonymus bushes as well as Porcelain Berry and Bittersweet vines.  There is one last very thick patch she would like extra help with on Saturday, Oct. 17th at 10am to noon. So we invite you to help her in this effort!

Parking will be available.

Water and snacks will be provided.  If it is pouring rain, we will just cancel everything.  If it is lightly raining, we will proceed.

Contact Daria at Dariaweb@Verizon.net if you plan to attend to get more detailed directions and so we can be prepared with sufficient supplies.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the NY State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

We hope to see some of you come out to help.
