Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct - Invasives Walk and Talk

The Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct you to participate in New York State’s Invasive Species Awareness Week by attending a demonstration, talk and walk on the Aqueduct, starting at the Keepers House in Dobbs Ferry 

July 15, Sunday from 10 am to 12 noon - Learn about invasive plant species found on the trail and that may also be present in your backyards.  Ever wonder about those vines choking the trees, or about those red berries on the bushes?  You will find out why invasive species are problematic, how to identify some of them and what can be done to manage them.  

Your guides will be amateur naturalists Diane Alden, Guide at Teatown’s Wildflower Island, Friends’ Board Member and member of the Lower Hudson Partnership for Invasive Species Management (PRISM) & Daria Gregg, Wildflower Island Guide at Teatown and Citizen Scientist at the New York Botanical Garden.
