Aquatic Invasive Species Training

Date:
Sunday, August 30, 2015 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
Location:
Croton-on-Hudson

Samantha Epstein, Invasive Species Program Coordinator, from Hudson River Sloop Clearwater will be holding two more aquatic invasive species trainings this season. While some of the common invasive species are on their way out (curly-leaf pondweed), hydrilla is just beginning its season! This training session will have a stronger focus on hydrilla, and will also cover some Hudson River Fish Advisory information.

If you are interested in learning how to identify and survey for some common aquatic invasive species, join us at Black Rock Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY (directions found in the link provided below). The trainings will be held on:

Sunday, August 30: 10AM - 12PM

Tuesday, September 1: 1PM - 3PM

Samantha will have live samples of some invasive plants including hydrilla, Eurasian watermilfoil, water chestnut, fanwort, and brittle naiad, as well as some invasive animals including the zebra mussel and Chinese mystery snail.
